Indonesia weather: BMKG warns of high waves and tidal flooding

The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has issued various weather warnings across Indonesia. High waves reaching 2.5 to 4 meters and tidal flooding risks have been identified for ten provinces, including coastal areas in Sumatra, Java, Bali, and parts of Sulawesi and Maluku.

In Bali, El Niño is expected to cause a delayed and shorter rainy season, beginning in late November 2026 with a peak in February 2027. This shorter duration may lead to higher rainfall intensity. Meanwhile, Jakarta is expected to experience clear skies, while regions in West Java, such as Bogor and Depok, face potential heavy rain and thunderstorms.

In Tangerang, local authorities anticipate the end of a long dry season with light rain expected throughout the week. Residents are advised to remain vigilant regarding potential puddles and atmospheric changes.
