BMT acquires Australian naval architecture firm One2three to broaden global ship design services
BMT announced the acquisition of Sydney‑based One2three Naval Architects. Founded in 2005, One2three has designed more than 300 vessels operating in over 30 countries, covering commercial ferries, battery‑powered craft, para‑military vessels and luxury yachts.
The deal adds expertise in high‑speed ferries, multihull and autonomous technologies to BMT’s maritime consultancy, extending its global engineering resources and delivery network. BMT’s regional business director for APAC, Graeme Nayner, said the purchase supports growing demand for commercial shipbuilding, particularly in the United States, and follows BMT’s earlier acquisition of AMT. Managing Director Steve Quigley said joining BMT will allow One2three to scale its design capabilities while maintaining its customer‑focused approach.
