BMW 3 Series Passes TÜV Inspection with Minor Flaws
The Auto Bild TÜV‑Report 2026 evaluated the current BMW 3 Series – the F30 generation launched in 2011 and the G20 version introduced in 2019 – and found the cars generally pass Germany’s main vehicle inspection (HU). Fault rates were low for drive shafts, steering, rear lighting, brake lines and exhaust systems, although a few minor issues were recorded.
The report notes that the F30 received a 40th‑anniversary facelift in 2015, adding a three‑cylinder 318i engine, while the G20 was refreshed in 2022 and received a further facelift two years later. A plug‑in‑hybrid variant debuted in 2016 and a new generation is expected for the 2026/27 model year.
