BMW expands electric and luxury lineup with Neue Klasse updates

BMW is significantly expanding its vehicle portfolio through the rollout of its Neue Klasse architecture and updates to flagship models. The company has introduced the iX4 electric SUV coupe, which features an 800-volt architecture and offers a range of up to 828 km in its 50 xDrive configuration. Additionally, the BMW 7 Series and the electric i7 are transitioning to the Neue Klasse, featuring a new cockpit design with the Panoramic Vision display and improved battery technology capable of over 700 km of range.

In the SUV segment, BMW is testing the iX7, a large three-row electric model, alongside the combustion-powered X7 M60 at the Nürburgring. The upcoming iX5 60 xDrive has also seen its estimated EPA range revised upward to approximately 724 km, supported by a 144 kWh battery. Other notable updates include the X3 M50 xDrive, which will receive a power increase to 437 hp for the 2027 model year, and the launch of a new xDrive40d Black Line grade for the X7 in Japan.

BMW is also exploring specialized segments, such as the Concept 7 Protection, a high-performance armored sedan based on the M760e xDrive, designed to provide ballistic protection without sacrificing luxury.
