BMW and E Ink debut color-changing iX3 Flow Concept

BMW and E Ink have unveiled the BMW iX3 Flow Concept, the fifth vehicle in their ongoing collaboration to develop dynamic automotive surfaces. The concept car utilizes E Ink Prism technology to turn the vehicle's exterior into a programmable, digital surface that functions similarly to paint.

Created in conjunction with the release of ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, the concept features a solid red finish that transitions into a 10-second animation sequence including web-inspired imagery and film branding. The display demonstrates the low-power capabilities of E Ink’s digital surface technology and its potential for immersive storytelling in vehicle design.

The vehicle will be on public display at BMW Welt in Munich through September 2026. This project builds upon previous collaborations between the two companies, including the iX Flow, BMW i Vision Dee, and the BMW i5 Flow NOSTOKANA.
