BMW and Mercedes-Benz announce new vehicle updates and awards

BMW has received early recognition for its new electric i3, which was named Car of the Year 2026 by CAR Magazine at the Genius Awards. The i3 50 xDrive is expected to deliver 463 hp and a WLTP range of up to 708 km. It utilizes an 800-volt architecture capable of 400 kW fast charging, potentially adding 400 km of range in ten minutes.

Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz is updating its current C-Class lineup to bridge the gap before its full electric generation arrives. The refreshed sedan and estate models, featuring updated exterior styling and an improved cockpit with AI-driven digital assistants, are expected to hit the market this autumn. Prices for the updated C-Class will start at 48,844 euros. The lineup includes mild-hybrid petrol and diesel engines, as well as a plug-in hybrid capable of up to 100 km of purely electric driving.
