BMW announces M2 Racing for circuit competition

BMW M Motorsport has announced the BMW M2 Racing, a vehicle developed specifically for circuit competition. Unlike standard models that undergo post-production modifications, the M2 Racing is assembled from the beginning as a dedicated racing car on the same manufacturing line as international BMW M2 models.

The vehicle features a 1,998 cm³ turbo inline-four B48 engine producing 313 CV and 400 Nm of torque, paired with a ZF 8HP eight-speed transmission. It includes a mechanical self-locking differential with independent cooling and an adaptive power management system designed to comply with various racing category regulations.

Technical specifications include KW shock absorbers based on GT3 technology, adjustable stabilizer bars, and BMW M Compound brakes. The car is equipped with a carbon fiber roof, a DMSB-certified welded safety cage, an FIA ATL FT3 fuel cell, and a fire extinguishing system. The declared weight is 1,498 kg.
