BMW celebrates M3 40th anniversary with historic and electric models at Goodwood Festival

The 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed runs from July 9‑12 in West Sussex, UK. BMW uses the event to mark the 40th anniversary of the original M3, displaying every generation of the model in a hill‑climb parade and showcasing the M3 Touring 24H and a track‑kit‑equipped M2.

The exhibition also features historic race cars, including a fully restored Benetton B186 Formula 1 car that won the 1986 Mexican Grand Prix with Gerhard Berger, as well as classic BMW entries such as the M3 GTR, M3 DTM and McLaren F1 GTR. New electric vehicles are highlighted, with the fresh iX5, iX3, i3 and flagship i7 M70 on display, alongside the upcoming M Concept Neue Klasse electric M‑car.

MINI also presents a range of models, from an electric John Cooper Works convertible to a Countryman with a roof‑tent, adding breadth to the marque’s showcase.
