BMW iX3 reaches 50,000 units produced as orders near 100,000

BMW Group announced that its new Plant Debrecen in Hungary has built the 50,000th iX3 SUV in just nine months, the fastest production ramp‑up ever recorded for a newly opened BMW factory. The model is the first series‑production vehicle on the company’s Neue Klasse platform and is equipped with a 108.7 kWh battery delivering up to 805 km WLTP range and 400 kW fast‑charging capability. To cope with strong global demand, a second shift was introduced in February 2026, earlier than planned, and a third shift is being prepared for September 2026. The plant, which employs more than 5,000 workers and reflects an investment of over €2 billion, is expected to see incoming iX3 orders approach 100,000 units. BMW forecasts that the iX3 will underpin about 40 new or refreshed models by the end of 2027.
