BMW Group Korea trains over 2,400 automotive technical professionals

BMW Group Korea has trained over 2,400 automotive technical professionals through its industry-academic cooperation programs. The company recently held a graduation and induction ceremony for its ‘BMW Apprentice’ and ‘Ausbildung’ programs.

The BMW Apprentice program, launched in 2004, provides scholarships and technical training to automotive students, with the goal of placing graduates in official BMW dealerships. Since its inception with eight partner universities, the program has expanded to include 37 institutions. To date, it has produced 1,898 graduates.

The Ausbildung program, a German-style dual vocational education model introduced to the Korean automotive industry by BMW in 2017, allows participants to combine paid work with academic study. Graduates earn an associate degree, certification from the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and BMW Junior Technician status. This program has produced 538 graduates.

In total, 2,436 trainees have been trained through these initiatives and are currently working as professional personnel across seven official BMW dealerships.
