BMW iX3 earns 5‑star Euro NCAP safety rating under new test regime

BMW announced that its new iX3 model received the top‑level five‑star rating from Euro NCAP under the organisation’s revised 2026 assessment protocol. The vehicle scored 73 % in Safe Driving, 83 % in Crash Avoidance, 86 % in Crash Protection and 95 % in Post‑Crash safety, meeting the stricter criteria that now evaluate driver assistance, collision‑avoidance systems, occupant protection and post‑impact rescue features. The rating was based on a 2 000‑km real‑world drive that crossed Italy, France, Germany and Austria, during which the iX3 correctly identified speed limits in 86 % of cases and demonstrated reliable operation of physical control switches and emergency‑call functions.

In Tunisia, the iX3 – the first model of BMW’s Neue Klasse line launched there – became available for order on 6 July 2026 at a price of 299 900 DT inclusive of tax. The Tunisian version features all‑electric xDrive, a WLTP‑rated range up to 805 km, fast charging up to 400 kW, an 8‑year warranty and a digitally‑focused interior with the new BMW Panoramic iDrive system. The dual launch highlights both the model’s safety credentials and its entry into new markets.
