BMW launches first M2 model with xDrive all‑wheel drive

BMW announced the M2 xDrive, the inaugural M2 equipped with the brand’s xDrive all‑wheel‑drive system. The car retains the 3.0 L twin‑turbo S58 inline‑six engine delivering 473 PS (approximately 480 hp) and 600 Nm of torque, while offering a selectable rear‑wheel‑drive mode for traditional handling.

Performance figures include 0‑100 km/h in about 3.6 seconds and 0‑200 km/h in 12.8 seconds, with an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (or 285 km/h with the M Driver’s Package). Production is set to begin in August 2026 at BMW’s plant in Mexico. The model will be awarded as the BMW M Award prize to the top MotoGP rider, highlighting BMW’s long‑standing involvement with the series.
