BMW Motorrad adventure motorcycle prototype spotted in testing

A new BMW Motorrad adventure motorcycle prototype has been spotted in testing, potentially filling a gap in the lineup between the F 450 GS and the larger F 800 GS and F 900 GS models. While the exact displacement is unconfirmed, the machine is expected to feature a parallel-twin engine, possibly in the 650cc to 700cc range, which would position it to compete with models like the Yamaha Tenere 700 and Aprilia Tuareg 660.

Technical observations of the test mule suggest off-road capabilities, including a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel configuration, long-travel suspension, and a steel frame that resembles the F 900 GS. The prototype also features an X-shaped headlight design similar to the R 1300 GS and a dual disc brake setup. A production version, which could potentially be branded as the F 650 GS, is estimated to launch as early as 2028.
