BMW Motorrad expands GS adventure motorcycle lineup

BMW Motorrad is expanding its GS adventure motorcycle lineup to fill gaps between existing models. The company is developing a new F 600 GS, expected around 2028, to sit between the F 450 GS and the F 900 GS. Technical specifications for the F 600 GS suggest a 590 cc parallel twin-cylinder engine producing approximately 65 HP, focusing on torque and fuel efficiency.

In the entry-level segment, the F 450 GS is nearing the final stages of development. This model features a 420 cc twin-cylinder engine delivering 48 HP, designed to meet licensing requirements in various international markets. The F 450 GS utilizes a steel tubular chassis and is expected to weigh around 180 kg.

Additionally, the F 450 GS has been showcased in Brazil as a successor to the F 310 GS. The development of these engines involves manufacturing partnerships, such as with TVS, which also produces engines for the upcoming Norton Atlas middle-class adventure motorcycle.
