BMW Motorrad unveils F 450 R naked bike and F 450 GS adventure models
BMW Motorrad has unveiled two new models in its F 450 family: the F 450 R naked roadster and the F 450 GS adventure motorcycle. Both models are designed for the A2 license category and share a 420cc parallel-twin engine platform manufactured by TVS in India.
The engine produces approximately 35 kW (48 hp) and 43 Nm of torque, with 80% of the torque available from 3,000 rpm. The F 450 R features a street-focused design with a ready-to-ride weight of 175 kg and will be offered in four versions, including M Sport and an Innovation Package. The F 450 GS is available in three versions: Exclusive, Sport, and GS Trophy.
A key technological highlight is the Easy Ride Clutch (ERC), available on high-end trims like the GS Trophy. When paired with the Shift Assistant Pro, this system allows riders to start, stop, and change gears without manual clutch operation. Both motorcycles feature modern electronics, including TFT displays, riding modes, and premium components from KYB and Brembo.
