BMW Motorrad unveils new F 450 R naked sports motorcycle
BMW Motorrad has introduced the new F 450 R, a naked sports motorcycle designed for the A2 license category. The model features a 420 cc fuel-injected parallel-twin engine that produces 48 hp at 8,750 rpm and 43 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm. The engine design includes a 135-degree crankpin offset to provide a distinct character and sound.
Developed specifically for road use, the F 450 R utilizes a tubular steel space frame where the engine acts as a load-bearing element. The chassis is equipped with 43 mm KYB upside-down forks and a KYB monoshock on an aluminum hollow-cast double-sided swingarm. The bike features a six-speed gearbox and a 14-liter fuel tank, offering a claimed range of over 350 km.
Technology options include the Shift Assistant Pro quick shifter, which is standard on most versions, and the Easy Ride Clutch (ERC) available on the M Sport model. The ERC allows for clutch-free starts and gear changes when paired with the quick shifter. The motorcycle meets Euro 5+ emission standards and has service intervals set at 10,000 km. Initial deliveries are expected to begin during the second quarter of 2027.
