BMW unveils next‑gen X1, i4 Convertible and X6 designs under Neue Klasse platform

BMW is preparing a major redesign of its compact X1 SUV, slated for a 2027 launch. Renderings show a slimmer front end, wider lighting strips and a revamped interior with larger digital displays. An all‑electric iX1 variant is said to use an 800‑volt architecture, promising at least 650 km of range and faster charging, with a projected starting price of about €50,000.

The company is also developing an i4 Convertible, internally coded NA3, expected to appear in 2028. The electric cabrio will retain the four‑seat layout of the current 4‑Series Cabrio, feature a soft fabric roof, and aim for a range near 600 km while coexisting with the ICE version until around 2029.

Unreleased digital sketches of the next‑generation X6 suggest a slimmer kidney‑grille, cleaner lines and updated LED lighting, reflecting BMW’s new Neue Klasse design language. These images are unofficial and no physical prototype has been shown yet, but they indicate a significant visual and technological shift for the flagship coupe‑SUV.
