BMW passes Tesla in Germany's Q2 2025 electric‑car registrations

At the same time, a Frost & Sullivan report highlights a global transition among major OEMs toward modular EV platforms, advanced battery technologies and vertically integrated supply chains. The analysis forecasts worldwide battery‑electric‑vehicle sales to rise from 17.8 million in 2024 to roughly 32.6 million by 2031. It quotes mobility expert Srinag Rajendra Kumar: “OEMs are moving beyond standalone electrification strategies towards integrated ecosystems built on modular platforms, advanced battery technologies and strategic charging partnerships.” The report cites intensified competition from Chinese manufacturers and pressure to cut battery costs as key drivers of this shift.
