BMW expands lineup with new 7 Series and Neue Klasse models

BMW is significantly expanding its vehicle lineup through 2027, centered on the Neue Klasse design philosophy and a dual-track approach for its core models. The company is developing separate architectures for internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles and fully electric models, meaning cars like the Series 3 and its electric counterpart, the i3, will feature different dimensions and platforms.

The new electric i3 is expected to offer a range exceeding 800 kilometers on a single charge. In contrast, the ICE Series 3, such as the M350 xDrive, will utilize a 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine paired with a 48-volt mild hybrid system. These combustion models will feature updated interiors with panoramic displays and AI assistants, though they lack the dedicated battery floor of the electric versions.

Further updates include the 7 Series, which serves as a technological flagship for the brand, and the SUV lineup. The X5, iX5, and iX3 will receive enhanced powertrains and features. Additionally, the iX4 is positioned as a coupe-style SUV successor to the X4, utilizing the Neue Klasse architecture with a focus on streamlined design.
