BMW sells 100 iX3 electric SUVs in Mexico

BMW has reached a milestone in Mexico with the sale of 100 units of the iX3 50 xDrive electric SUV. Although the sales volume is modest, the vehicle is positioned as a high-end option in the Mexican market with a starting price of 1,495,000 pesos.

Currently, the iX3 is manufactured exclusively at BMW’s Debrecen plant in Hungary, which has reached a production milestone of 50,000 vehicles. To meet growing demand, BMW is expanding its manufacturing footprint. Local production of the iX3 is scheduled to begin in Mexico at the San Luis Potosí plant in 2027, following an €800 million expansion that includes a new battery assembly facility.
