BMW unveils 900‑hp electric M3 concept at Le Mans

BMW used its participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans to present a concept for the first fully electric M3. The model is built on the upcoming i3 platform that will launch in 2027 and is expected to deliver between 800 and 900 horsepower with a claimed range of about 900 km. Design elements highlighted include wide fender sections, a front splitter for low‑ground clearance and a rear concave wing for stability under hard acceleration. The electric M3 is positioned to succeed the long‑running internal‑combustion M3, which has been in production since 1986, and will join BMW’s Neue Klasse electric lineup that will replace the current i4 in the D‑segment.

BMW said the concept aims to combine the traditional M‑car driving experience with the performance and efficiency of its battery technology, targeting customers who value both speed and sustainability.
