BMW unveils electric M Concept Neue Klasse and fuels speculation on a modern M1

BMW presented the M Concept Neue Klasse, an electric performance model that merges the streamlined design language of the brand's upcoming Neue Klasse line with traditional M‑division attributes such as aggressive aerodynamics and precise body lines. The concept highlights BMW’s effort to redefine high‑performance sports cars for the electric era.

Separately, internal design studies for a potential new BMW M1 have been circulated, showing a low‑slung, mid‑engine super‑sports car with classic proportions. BMW M‑division leaders Frank van Meel and Oliver Heilmer confirmed that while no official project has been approved, the idea remains alive and a limited‑run collector version could precede a full production model. Both pieces reflect BMW’s ongoing exploration of high‑performance offerings within its expanding electric portfolio.
