BMW unveils limited‑run M3 CS Handschalter manual RWD model

BMW announced the 2027 M3 CS Handschalter, a limited edition M3 CS built exclusively with a 6‑speed manual transmission and rear‑wheel drive. Production is set to begin in July 2026 with deliveries to North America only, and the car is priced at $107,100. BMW described it as “the only M3 CS ever built with a 6‑speed manual, rear‑wheel drive, and model‑specific chassis tuning.”

The hand‑built vehicle retains the S58 inline‑six engine, now delivering 473 hp and 406 lb‑ft of torque, and BMW claims a 0‑60 mph time of 4.1 seconds. Extensive carbon‑fiber components and a revised suspension, borrowed from the M4 CSL, reduce weight by roughly 42–75 lb compared with the standard M3 CS. Optional M Carbon ceramic brakes and bespoke 927M wheels are also offered. Four paint options are standard, with two premium colors – Imola Red and Techno Violet – priced at $4,500 each.

BMW previewed the car at a private event at Willow Springs and will officially debut it on 23 May at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, with a limited production run for the U.S. market.
