BMZ Poland and EVE Energy partner on LMFP battery platform

BMZ Poland and EVE Energy have established a long-term strategic partnership to develop high-performance battery solutions for electric commercial vehicles, ships, and heavy machinery. At the IAA Transportation 2026 event in Hannover, the companies unveiled the VERSORA LMFP platform.

The new platform utilizes Lithium-Manganese-Iron-Phosphate (LMFP) chemistry, which is designed to bridge the performance gap between cost-effective LFP batteries and high-energy-density NMC batteries. The LMFP technology offers a balance of safety, longevity, and energy density, potentially allowing long-haul trucks to be up to 10 percent lighter than those using standard LFP batteries.

Technical specifications indicate that the LMFP cells can support over 4,500 charging cycles while maintaining 80 percent state of health. The technology also enables faster charging, with the ability to increase charge levels from 10 to 80 percent in under 25 minutes. The companies aim to provide the first customer samples in 2027, with mass production and series deliveries scheduled to begin in mid-2028.
