BNG accuses Ourense Mayor of using job reforms to reward political allies
The BNG municipal group in Ourense has filed formal allegations against the local government, led by Gonzalo Pérez Jácome, regarding proposed modifications to the Relationship of Job Positions (RPT).
BNG spokesperson Luis Seara characterized the restructuring as a “payment of favors with public funds” intended to reward or punish civil servants based on their political affinity to the mayor. The plan involves suppressing nearly all current service head positions to create new “macro-departments” that would consolidate power in fewer hands.
The allegations highlight two primary irregularities: first, that the new positions include a generalized increase in specific salary supplements, which the BNG argues violates the Basic Statute of Public Employees (TREBEP) by failing to provide individualized evaluations. Second, the party claims the process lacks the mandatory prior audit report from the municipal intervention, which is required for files with economic consequences.
