BNG supports Lugove transport strike and demands Xunta intervention
The BNG (Bloque Nacionalista Galego) has expressed full support for workers at Subus-Lugove, the company responsible for interurban public transport services in the Baixo Miño and Val de Miñor regions of Galicia. The strike is a response to the company’s alleged failure to comply with the Pontevedra passenger transport collective agreement.
BNG deputy Paulo Ríos and municipal spokesperson Manuela Rodríguez have called on the Xunta de Galicia to intervene immediately. They argue that as the service holder and highest labor authority, the Xunta is responsible for the company’s breach of contract. The BNG criticized the original design of the transport plan, claiming it was poorly dimensioned regarding both staffing and routes, leading to overcrowding on lines such as Baiona to Vigo and insufficient capacity for passengers.
