Bánh mì Bà Được apologizes after 167 suspected food poisonings

Authorities in Quang Ngai province have recorded 167 suspected cases of food poisoning following the consumption of food from Bánh mì Bà Được, a long-standing local establishment. As of the morning of October 13, patients were receiving treatment across nine hospitals and medical facilities in the region. While 13 patients with stable health have already been discharged, others remain under medical care, including those at Phuc Hung Private General Hospital.

The Quang Ngai Department of Health stated that official test results for food and biological samples are still pending to determine the exact cause of the incident.

In response to the situation, the owners of Bánh mì Bà Được issued a public apology to their customers and have temporarily suspended business operations. The establishment stated they are cooperating fully with local authorities and are awaiting official laboratory findings to implement appropriate remedial measures and support those affected.
