BNK Busan Bank and Busan City Launch 670 Million‑Won Social Welfare Project

BNK Busan Bank pledged a total of 670 million Korean won to the Busan Social Welfare Community Chest for a locally‑tailored social‑contribution programme. 480 million won will fund the “Our Neighborhood Sustainable Finance Project,” a grant system that lets each of Busan’s 16 districts propose and run community‑focused welfare, environmental, youth and financial‑education initiatives. An additional 190 million won will support the “2026 Cool Summer Project,” providing roughly 2,000 fan‑type fans with 2,000 portable fans for low‑income households vulnerable to heat waves.

The donation ceremony took place on 29 March at Busan City Hall, attended by Mayor Jeon Jae‑soo, BNK Group Chairman, BNK Busan Bank President Kim Sung‑ju and social‑welfare leaders. Applications for the projects are open until 31 August, with selections made by a joint review panel and implementation scheduled from October through the following October.
