BNP holds protest in Ashuganj against MP Rumin Farhana

Members of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its affiliated organizations held a protest march in Ashuganj, Brahmanbaria, declaring independent Member of Parliament Rumin Farhana unwanted in the area. The demonstration, which featured activists carrying brooms, was organized in response to remarks Farhana made during the third session of the National Parliament on September 9.

In her parliamentary speech, Farhana expressed skepticism regarding the BNP's ability to manage national issues if they were to come to power. She suggested that a BNP administration would likely face continued crises in gas, electricity, and fertilizer, and could potentially see an increase in corruption and loan defaults.

During a rally at the Ashuganj Upazila BNP office, party leaders criticized Farhana's statements, accusing her of serving the interests of the Awami League and India. Local BNP leaders, including Upazila President Haji Md. Shahjahan Siraj, formally rejected her comments and declared her unwelcome in the Ashuganj region.
