BNP Paribas Asset Management launches sustainability strategy and wins mandates
BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM) has launched its Global Sustainability Strategy for 2026–2030, a six-pillar roadmap designed to address systemic sustainability risks across its $1.97 trillion in assets under management. The strategy focuses on climate investment, ESG integration, stewardship, and updated net-zero targets to align with evolving regulations like the proposed SFDR 2.0 framework.
In a related development, the French pension scheme Ircantec has awarded nearly €1.6 billion in decarbonization-focused equity index mandates to asset managers Amundi and BNP Paribas Asset Management. These seven-year mandates aim to support Ircantec’s goal of reducing portfolio emissions by an average of 7% annually until 2050. The mandates will utilize customized MSCI SRI indices to ensure carbon footprints remain 50% below benchmarks while maintaining exposure to high-impact sectors.
