BNP Paribas Dwa Brzegi Festival Opens in Kazimierzu Dolny
The BNP Paribas Dwa Brzegi cultural festival began this weekend in Kazimierzu Dolny, Poland, featuring a program of film, theatre and music. Prominent Polish actors and filmmakers such as Joanna Kulig, Grażyna Szapołowska, Magdalena Cielecka, Daniel Olbrychski, Olgierd Łukaszewicz, Marcin Dorociński, Robert Więckiewicz and Anna Dymna attended for public talks and meet‑and‑greets.
The opening day showcased Paweł Pawlikowski’s award‑winning short “Ojczyzna” and the premiere of Lukas Dhont’s new drama “Tchórz”, described as a coming‑of‑age story. Evening events included the retrospective “Mój wiek XXI” with director Jan Komasa, screenings of Cristian Mungiu’s Cannes‑winning “Fiord”, and a special showing of Andrzej Wajda’s “Wszystko na sprzedaż”. A musical‑theatrical performance “Romeo i Julia żyją” concluded the day’s programme.
