BNP Paribas faces potential collective action over discrimination claims
Labor unions, including various branches of the CGT, are threatening a collective legal action against BNP Paribas following allegations of systemic discrimination. The unions claim that employees have faced discrimination regarding qualifications, classifications, career progression, and remuneration.
The allegations specifically highlight issues related to gender equality, health status, and disability. Union representatives stated that despite previous legal convictions against the bank regarding the treatment of employees with disabilities or illnesses, discriminatory practices have allegedly continued and intensified. This formal notification marks the beginning of a six-month discussion phase required under French law for collective actions.
