BNP Paribas introduces passkey login for business clients in Poland

BNP Paribas has begun rolling out a new login method for its GOonline Biznes internet banking platform, allowing business clients to use passkeys. This feature, which started being systematically released on October 5, enables users to authenticate their identity using a fingerprint, facial recognition, or a PIN code via a trusted device such as a smartphone, tablet, or computer.

The bank claims to be the first institution in the Polish market to offer this method to business customers. The passkeys are stored in a protected area of the user's device and are cryptographically linked exclusively to the bank's official domain. This mechanism is designed to protect against phishing attacks, as the passkey will not appear or function on fraudulent websites that mimic the bank's official domain.

Supported devices include Windows 10 or 11 computers via Windows Hello, Android devices (version 9 or newer), and iPhones or iPads (iOS/iPadOS 16 or newer).
