BNPB promotes InaRISK platform to strengthen disaster mitigation

The National Disaster Management Authority (BNPB) is promoting the use of the InaRISK Personal platform and the Disaster History Literacy Portal to strengthen disaster mitigation and preparedness in Indonesia. During a socialization event in Banten as part of the 2026 Disaster Risk Reduction Month, officials emphasized a shift from reactive response to a preventive approach through increased public awareness and data-driven knowledge.

BNPB officials described the two platforms as complementary: the history portal serves as a memory library of past disasters, while InaRISK acts as a personal risk compass for citizens. The initiative aims to use technology and data to help the government and the public identify potential hazards, understand regional risks, and integrate safety into sustainable development planning. Success for the platform is measured by its ability to influence decision-making, prioritize high-risk areas, and translate information into concrete actions for public safety.
