BNPB provides Rp1.57 billion in aid for Way Kambas forest fires

The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) has dispatched approximately Rp1.57 billion in logistics and equipment to accelerate the suppression of forest and land fires in Way Kambas National Park, East Lampung. The aid includes nozzles, firefighting boots, jet shooters, hoses, and water pumps. Local disaster management officials noted that transporting equipment into the Way Kambas area remains a challenge, requiring significant time and labor to move hoses over long distances.

In other regions, forest and land fires have been reported across Indonesia. In Central Sulawesi, fires in Parigi Moutong destroyed roughly two hectares of cocoa and clove plantations. Similar incidents occurred in Tojo Una-Una, Central Sulawesi, affecting vegetation and shrubs. Additional fires were also reported in South Sulawesi and the Bangka Belitung Islands.
