BNPT and LPSK strengthen protection for terrorism survivors

The Indonesian National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) and the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) have strengthened their collaboration to enhance the protection and fulfillment of rights for terrorism victims. This initiative is part of the 2026–2029 National Action Plan for the Prevention and Counteraction of Violent Extremism (RAN PE).

During a recent event in Jakarta, symbolic support was provided to 34 terrorism survivors. BNPT Head Eddy Hartono emphasized that state commitment includes comprehensive assistance such as medical aid, psychological and psychosocial rehabilitation, family compensation, and social support.

LPSK Vice Chair Susilaningtyas noted that trauma recovery is a lifelong process, as specific triggers can revive traumatic memories even after initial support is provided. The government aims to ensure long-term assistance, including economic support, to help survivors reintegrate into society.
