Bo Bichette likely to opt into Mets contract

MLB insider Chelsea Janes reports that Bo Bichette is expected to opt into his current contract with the New York Mets rather than entering free agency this winter. Although Bichette’s three-year, $126 million deal includes an opt-out clause after each season, observations from the end of the season suggest he intends to stay.

Janes noted that Bichette did not appear to be saying goodbyes during his final games, and teammates Juan Soto and Francisco Lindor spoke as though they expected him to return for the 2027 season.
