Bío Bío Presidential Delegation appointment expected soon
The appointment of a successor to Julio Anativia for the Bío Bío Presidential Delegation is expected to be announced this week. Although President José Antonio Kast is currently in Europe, sources suggest Interior Minister Claudio Alvarado, acting as Vice President, may make the announcement.
Regional political parties have expressed specific preferences for the new authority's profile. Larry Sandoval, president of the UDI, stated the role requires a political coordinator with technical skills capable of addressing unemployment and economic reactivation. Claudio Eguiluz, Vice President of Renovación Nacional (RN), noted that while his party has not proposed a specific name, they hope to retain the position previously held by Anativia. Additionally, Renato Navarro, regional president of the Republican Party, emphasized the need for experienced leadership and suggested Claudio Lapostól as a potential candidate.
