Green Bay Packers defeat Denver Broncos 33-13 in preseason

The Green Bay Packers defeated the Denver Broncos 33-13 in their second NFL preseason game. The victory snapped Denver’s eight-game preseason winning streak.

Denver quarterback Bo Nix made a successful return to live action following surgery for a broken ankle sustained in the playoffs. Nix completed 6 of 9 passes for 76 yards and a 21-yard touchdown to R. J. Harvey. He also connected with Jaylen Waddle for a 35-yard gain during his first drive.

Green Bay’s offense was led by Jordan Love, who threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Marshawn Lloyd. Rookie kicker Trey Smack had a standout performance, converting four field goals, including kicks of 51, 59, and 44 yards. Other notable contributors for the Packers included Will Sheppard, who caught a touchdown pass from Tyrod Taylor, and Jaden Nixon, who scored on a 3-yard run.

The game also saw several injuries and roster evaluations. Green Bay reported injuries to cornerback Brandon Cisse, defensive lineman Warren Brinson, receiver J. Michael Sturdivant, receiver Savion Williams, and edge rusher Collin Oliver. Denver running back J. K. Dobbins was inactive due to a minor soft-tissue injury.
