JBS S.A. settles labor safety violations for R$ 3.9 million
JBS S.A. has reached a R$ 3.9 million settlement with the Labor Public Ministry (MPT-MT) to resolve a 2014 civil public action regarding severe health and safety violations at its Alta Floresta unit. The agreement, ratified by the Labor Court, addresses issues such as inadequate fire prevention, lack of emergency response plans, and unsafe working conditions in the deboning sector, where improper equipment layout hindered worker movement and emergency evacuations.
