Boa Vista adds new Detran office and school bus to boost services

On Tuesday, February 14, the Roraima State Traffic Department (Detran‑RR) opened a sixth decentralized agency in Boa Vista. Housed in the Sest Senat building on Avenida Princesa Isabel in the Jardim Floresta district, the office operates Monday‑Friday, 8 am‑2 pm, and offers licensing, vehicle registration, fines, and document services. Director José Raimundo Rodrigues said the new location aims to bring traffic services closer to residents and improve convenience.

In a separate municipal initiative, Boa Vista received a new school bus as part of a fleet renewal for public‑school transportation. The bus, equipped with air‑conditioning, a wheelchair‑access platform and safety features, is intended to serve students from rural neighborhoods. Mayor Fernando Aires highlighted that the vehicle will enhance safety and comfort for students traveling longer distances, and the Municipal Education Department will integrate it into the local fleet.
