Boa Vista expands Municipal Civil Guard to 600 agents

The Municipal Civil Guard (GCM) of Boa Vista has expanded its force to 600 agents following the graduation of 157 new officers. The new cohort, consisting of 62 women and 95 men, completed over 700 hours of training in physical education, legislation, and self-defense.

In addition to the increased personnel, the corporation received new equipment, including 150 TS9C pistols, 25 Taser devices, and 100,500 rounds of ammunition. Mayor Marcelo Zeitoune noted that the expansion is part of a security strategy that has contributed to reducing violent death rates in the capital from 31% to 23% per 100,000 inhabitants between 2023 and 2025.
