BOAK motorway Chersonissos-Neapoli section Public-Private Partnership infrastructure development Greece construction

The construction of the Chersonissos-Neapoli section of the BOAK motorway in Greece is currently over 40% complete. Greek Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Christos Dimas, announced in Parliament that the scheduled date for service availability is July 11, 2028.

While July 11, 2029, serves as the ultimate contractual deadline for project availability, the Minister clarified that current planning aims for the 2028 target. The 23.5 km project is being developed through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) involving the GEK TERNA and AKTOR Group consortium.

The project design includes the construction of a twin tunnel approximately 600 meters long in the Kako Oros area. The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport is systematically monitoring the works to ensure adherence to the updated construction schedule.
