Boara authorities suspend radio station construction after court ruling

In Boara, local authorities and the company Inwit have been issued a formal warning following the unauthorized continuation of work on a radio base station. Despite an unfavorable ruling from the TAR (Regional Administrative Court), construction involving the installation of antennas and satellite dishes on an Inwit pylon proceeded in early August.

Lawyers representing local residents, who had previously won a legal appeal, stated the installation was being carried out despite the site being in an illegal state without valid authorization. The court's ruling was immediately enforceable and had not been suspended or appealed. In response to the formal warning, the Municipality has issued a directorial ordinance to suspend all works related to the mobile telephony plant.

The dispute originated from an application by Inwit in June 2025 to build a new facility for mobile telephony equipment. While the Municipality initially granted authorization with landscape prescriptions, residents challenged the decision, arguing that the administration failed to properly verify alternative locations as required by the municipal antenna plan.
