Gaza Board of Peace issues first contract for military outpost
The Trump-led Gaza Board of Peace has issued its first construction contract to build a military outpost in the Gaza Strip. The project is intended to house approximately 150 Moroccan soldiers as part of a planned International Stabilisation Force (ISF) designed to assist with security and governance.
The contract has been awarded to Arkel International, a Louisiana-based firm with experience performing work for the U.S. government in regions such as Iraq. Although the contract has been assigned, sources indicate it has not yet been finalized or officially signed.
The proposed military site is expected to be approximately 100 meters by 120 meters in size. It will be located in an area under direct Israeli military control, roughly 1.6 km (about one mile) from the Israeli border. To ensure safety, the facility plans to include a rapid evacuation route in the event of an attack. This outpost represents the initial stage of a larger plan that could eventually see the establishment of much larger security facilities capable of hosting up to 5,000 personnel.
