Boardmasters festival in Cornwall expands wellness and 24/7 welfare support
The Boardmasters music festival near Newquay, Cornwall, scheduled for 5‑9 August, is increasing its wellness programme and introducing round‑the‑clock welfare services for the expected 50,000 attendees. organisers say the festival now offers yoga, Pilates, run clubs, sound baths, a boutique spa with treatments and sauna facilities, reflecting the rapid growth of the UK wellness market.
In addition, a 24‑hour welfare team will be on site, including mental‑health practitioners, safeguarding professionals, medical clinicians and specialists to support victims of sexual violence, harassment or domestic abuse. Festival director Rob Spring said the aim is to provide “the right people, expertise and support… whenever they may need it without fear or judgement”. The move follows a 2023 sexual‑assault incident linked to the event and a 2025 crowd‑surge that sent seven people to hospital.
