Boavista SAF offers R$ 2.5 million and players to Ponte Preta

Boavista SAF has proposed a financial and athletic aid package to Ponte Preta to help the Campinas-based club navigate a severe institutional and financial crisis. The proposal, led by Boavista SAF president Marcelo Pedroza, includes an injection of R$ 2.5 million to settle three transfer bans—two imposed by FIFA and one by the National Dispute Resolution Commission (CNRD).

In addition to the funds, Boavista has offered to loan between six and ten players to bolster Ponte Preta’s squad for the final stretch of the Brasileirão Série B. The partnership aims to provide Boavista athletes with greater visibility in a major national competition. Negotiations are currently addressing payment structures, such as whether the funds will be treated as a loan or exchanged for future shares in player negotiations.

Ponte Preta is currently facing significant instability, sitting at the bottom of the Série B table with a 20-match winless streak. The club is also struggling with severe wage arrears, with some employees and players reporting unpaid salaries for up to a year. The deal is under intense time pressure, as the CBF registration deadline for new players is this Friday, September 11.
