Bob Baker Marionette Theater hosts community festivals and seasonal shows

The Bob Baker Marionette Theater, the oldest puppet theater in the United States, continues its community engagement through various seasonal events and festivals. The 12th annual Bob Baker Day recently took place in Los Angeles, serving as a celebration of the legacy of Bob Baker, the theater's co-founder who passed away in 2014.

The festival featured circus acrobats, the Los Angeles Guild of Puppetry, and traditional marionettes designed in the style established since the theater opened in 1963. Due to potential rain damage, this year's celebration was held in the fall rather than April.

Upcoming seasonal programming includes the ‘Hallowe’en Spooktacular’ at One Colorado in Pasadena, featuring themed puppets such as Dracula and witches. Additionally, the theater will participate in the ‘Spook-a-Nanny’ event at the Heritage Square Museum in Los Angeles on October 18, which combines classic puppet numbers with curated Halloween video snippets.
