Bob Mackie, legendary fashion designer to the stars, dies at 87 FAST-MOVING

Legendary fashion and costume designer Bob Mackie has died at the age of 87. He reportedly passed away from pneumonia at a hospital in Palm Springs, California.

Known as the ‘Sultan of Sequins,’ Mackie’s career spanned over six decades, during which he defined Hollywood glamour through extravagant, theatrical designs featuring sequins, feathers, and rhinestones. He was most famously associated with Cher, creating many of her most iconic stage and red-carpet looks, including her 1986 Oscar ensemble. His extensive client list also included Diana Ross, Tina Turner, Elton John, Madonna, and Whitney Houston.

Throughout his career, Mackie earned nine Emmy Awards, a Tony Award, and received three Oscar nominations. He was also inducted into the Television Academy Hall of Fame in 2002. His influence extended to pop culture through a signature Barbie doll collection and his work on iconic television programs such as ‘The Carol Burnett Show’.
