Bobby Flay debuts new Food Network series ‘The Line’

Chef Bobby Flay has launched a new series on Food Network titled ‘Bobby Flay’s The Line’. The program premiered on September 8, 2026, continuing Flay's long-standing presence in televised culinary entertainment.

The competition format features Flay assembling a group of celebrity chefs to work in a traditional restaurant line. These chefs compete against a team from an award-winning restaurant to see whose dinner service receives the highest ranking from restaurant guests, who act as judges. In the premiere episode, the competing team included the culinary staff from the restaurant Hav & Mar, led by chefs Marcus Samuelsson and Fariyal Abdullahi. The challenge required the teams to complete a dinner service of 240 plates.

While the show highlights high-level culinary creativity and visual appeal, some critiques suggest the competition format shares significant elements with existing programs such as ‘Chopped’, ‘Hell’s Kitchen’, and Flay’s own ‘Beat Bobby Flay’.
